Wintersemester 2009/10,
distanz + dimension
This project was based on the exploration of as much draping techniques as possible. The task was not to work on a specific theme with a given inspiration but rather to work on the dress form to ultimately discover a very personal way of draping.
While constantly working on the dress form, I gained a feeling for the movement of different fabrics and obtained a new understanding of how chlothing can work. I experimented a lot with fabrics differing in stiffness, texture, elasticity and transparency. The results feature a lot of complex folding and are often made of one-piece-patterns. For the shooting I wanted to play with light effects as my chosen colours refer to polar lights.
