Summer Semester 2015,
Coffea Caeremonia | Sarah Bräuner
The aim of my master project Coffea Caeremonia was to create everyday moments of pleasure and relaxation in the context of preparing and enjoying coffee. The idea was to frame the entire process as a sensual and ceremonial act. I designed the necessary tools and tableware while taking into account movement, handling and the stimulation of senses. The centrepiece of the set is a glass pitcher with a porcelain filter cone. Additionally, I designed cups and plates for serving and a mortar and pestle for grinding the coffee beans. Everything is arranged on a two-piece tray – a place dedicated for the ceremony.
